Updates as of Feb 2010
1) Athletes enter the pool via the locker waiting area at the deep end. (this has changed from our original posting)
2) BAC families may not sit on folding chairs in the hallways that lead to the pool deck. Any BAC parent/family member wishing to wait close to the deck during practice are asked to only sit in the General Locker area adjacent to the pool deck at the deep end of the pool. Please go down the stairs, turn right towards the racquet ball court, turn right, follow to the end and turn left. The General Locker Area is located on the left hand side of the hallway (behind the 4 foot wall). This is new since we posted the code.
Cell Phone Use Prohibited in Locker Room
From the time an athlete or parent enters the locker room at BAC or
Drew or at any other pool where they represent BAC,until he/she
leaves the locker room, all cell phones and any other device capable of
taking pictures or videos, must be turned off. If a parent or athlete is
found using one of these devices in the locker room, the athlete/family will
be suspended from the team. This is a matter of safety and privacy for our
athletes. We also ask that you report anyone violating this policy
immediately to the nearest coach.
Security
. Starting September 2009, Drew BAC athletes and parents must enter the facility via the main forum doors. At the main entrance turn right and walk past the security desk. Drew University Security will be provided with a team roster of athletes. Please identify yourself as a BAC athlete or parent if requested to do so. At security turn left to gain access to pool/locker rooms. Drew swimmers may only enter the pool deck from the locker rooms via the glass door at the shallow end. No parents on pool deck. No one will enter or exit the pool via the double glass doors at the deep end.
Drop off/Parking/Pick-up
. During the first week of practice at Drew University , Blue Streak Aquatic will have a parent representative(s) to assist athletes and parents in entering the building, locating the locker rooms and showing them the pool deck.
. The only accessible entrance by athletes and parents is via the main forum doors. The location of the doors is to the left of the horseshoe (drop-off/pickup area). It is accessible by foot by walking up a grade from the parking lot. Athletes may exit the facility through the doors near the horseshoe, BUT not enter or reenter through those doors.
. Parents shall drive slowly and carefully around the drop-off/pickup horseshoe. Swimmers shall exit vehicles on the curbside only. There shall be no horseplay in the parking lot.
. Parents shall arrive at Drew to pick up their children at the scheduled finish of practice. All athletes should be collected no later than 7:40. Coaches will be traveling between facilities to conduct subsequent practices. Athletes should remain inside the lobby until parents arrive to collect them, not wait outside on the circle.
. Parents shall park in designated areas only. Vehicles parked in unauthorized areas, such as the horseshoe or Food Service spots, risk being towed or ticketed. Parents may idle in the horseshoe area but may not at any time leave their cars parked there. If asked to leave the horseshoe area by a security guard, please cooperate promptly.
Behavior
. As guests of the Drew facility, we shall be considerate of others using the locker rooms, hallways and facility as a whole. The upstairs, including the vending machines and athletic areas other than the pool and locker room are off-limits to BAC families. Parents may wait in the main lobby on the first level or in the locker room area outside of the pool. They may use the bathrooms on the upper level or in the locker rooms. Only athletes may use the showers.
. There shall be: no running, no screaming, no pushing on deck, in the hallways or in the locker rooms, no ball throwing of any kind inside or outside the building.
. All bags shall be brought onto the deck during practice. Nothing shall be put in the lockers at all. Parents who are waiting in the general locker area for the duration of the practice may supervise their children's belongings. |
