This is an exciting time in the evolution of BAC and we are committed to providing an open and inclusive environment for all. Our goals this season are to improve communication, education and volunteer opportunities (no support is too small or insignificant, every little bit helps.) for the sake of all our dedicated swimmers who, with the coaches guidance and help, make BAC THE BEST swim club in NJ and one of the best in the country.
Who We Are:
Chet Lawson - chetlawson@verizon.net
President - The Lawson family joined Berkeley in 2000 when Brody their oldest son was 7. Brody(15), Mitchell(13) and Tatum(11) all began their swim careers in the Berkeley swim school and have graduated on to the competitive team. Chet says " Berkeley has been a positive part of our family for eight years. My goal while representing BSA is to create that same positive feeling for all families."
Walter Smagula - smagulaw@carroll.com
VP Facilities - The Smagulas joined BAC in September, 2005 and have two children in the program. Nicholas is a 14 year old Senior swimmer and Kimberly is a 10 year old Snapper. "We are very proud to be part of the BAC team, and are committed to continuing to create the best possible environment for all of our children."
Linda Woo - wookao@aol.com
Treasurer - We signed Brian up for swim school in 2000 because you can't go down the slide at Camp Riverbend unless you pass the deep water test. Christian soon followed Brian to swim school and on to the teams. Brian is now on Senior team and Christian is on Blue team. Similar to the Lawson family we have experienced every level of the swim school and team. The boys have grown up swimming at BAC and learned lessons far beyond swimming. David and I appreciate the community of dedicated parents that we have worked with over the years. I look forward to learning this new job and contributing to the club.
Nancy King - rckingjr@comcast.net
VP Major Meet Operations - rckingjr@comcast.net The King family first came to BAC in 1997 when Joshua, currently 15 and on Seniors, began lessons with the swim school. Soon, Amanda, now 19, transferred to the swim team and swam through high school for Jim and is currently swimming at UPenn. Meredith, now 11 and a Junior, accidentally swam her first swim meet at age 3 because we didn't know she had to be 4. Nancy started as a computer operator in 1998 and became the meet director a few years later. Rob is an official. " Berkeley has taught my children many important things, the least of which is how to swim well and fast. I love working with all the Berkeley parents to run the best meets in New Jersey . Berkeley parents work hard, produce excellent results and are a lot of fun."
Terry Healy - ejtj3@ msn.com
Secretary - The Healy family joined BAC four years ago after moving from Baltimore . Emily, now 18 graduated this past June and is swimming for the University of Vermont . Joe (15) has moved on to "Seniors" after spending his first years on "Juniors." Berkeley Aquatic is a very welcoming organization making it easy to become involved. We are continually impressed with how team-oriented BAC is and are honored to be a part of the Berkeley family. |
