This is an exciting time in the evolution of BAC and we are committed to providing an open and inclusive environment for all. Our goals this season are to improve communication, education and volunteer opportunities (no support is too small or insignificant, every little bit helps.) for the sake of all our dedicated swimmers who, with the coaches guidance and help, make BAC THE BEST swim club in NJ and one of the best in the country.
Who We Are:
Chet Lawson - chester.lawson@att.net
President and VP NTFC - Joined in 2000 when Brody their oldest son was 7. Brody(13) started out in the Berkeley swim school and he is currently in the BAC Senior program. They also have a Snapper, Tatum(8) on the BAC team who started out in the Berkeley swim school when she was four. We have recently added another family member to the BAC family as our son Mitchell is enrolled in the swim school. Chet says "Between my wife, Debbie and I we are at the pool 6x a week. We are there for age group practices as well as senior practices. We are always available to provide direction, answer questions, and listen to ideas and suggestions that could improve and benefit our BAC team.
Visala James - visala@unleashinc.com
VP Communication - Came to BAC 4 years ago when they moved from Cincinnati, Ohio . They have 2 girls, Becca, a Senior & Rachel, a Junior. Visala says "BAC is a great club, with wonderful coaches and dedicated swimmers and parents. Despite my busy lifestyle and commitments, I felt I had to make time to help out since we will be part of the BAC family for another 5 years and this is our home away from home."
Walter Smagula - smagulaw@carroll.com
VP Facilities - The Smagulas recently joined BAC in September, 2005 and have two children in the program. Nicholas is a 12 year old Junior swimmer and Kimberly is an 8 year old Snapper. "This past year with BAC has been a wonderful experience for both children and we look forward to many more years with the team. Swimming is such a big part of our children's lives, and we feel that helping out is just as extension of our entire family commitment to BAC."
Jim Curham - jcurham@verizon.net
Treasurer - They have two swimmers; Samantha 16 on the Senior team, and Megan 12 on the Blues Team. They have been with the club since the summer of 2000 when Samantha took a Competitive stroke course with Tristan and tried out for the team a few weeks later becoming a snapper in September of 2000. Megan was taking lessons at the time and joined TYM in September of 2002. Jim says, "We welcome the opportunity to help out in any way we can for the benefit of the swimmers and BAC."
Terry Healy - ejtj3@ msn.com
